OUR SURGEONS

Benjamin F. Allen M.D.

Dr. Benjamin F. Allen is a graduate of the University of California.  He earned his medical degree from Tufts University and completed his medical training at Harvard. 

Dr. Allen is Board certified by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is a member of the Virginia Orthopaedic Society.

 

Dr. Allen has been serving the Culpeper area for over 30 years.  He is a member of the Culpeper Regional Hospital Medical Staff.  During his years in Culpeper, he has served as the Chief of Surgery and as President of the Medical Staff. 

 

In his spare time, Dr. Allen has worked with Vietnam Veterans, amputees and other physically handicapped persons.  He is one of the founders of Disabled Sports USA and has served on its National Board of Directors since 1990.

 

Dr. Allen specializes in general orthopaedics and has performed hundreds of total knee, total hip and total shoulder replacements.  Additionally, as a general orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Allen performs various procedures for hand, ankle, foot and knee injuries.

Wahid M. Baqaie M.D.

Dr. Baqaie is a graduate of George Mason University and earned his medical degree from the Boston University School of Medicine.  He completed his Orthopaedic training at Georgetown University and his Fellowship in Spine Surgery at the University of Virginia.


Dr. Baqaie is Board Certified by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.  He is a member of the National Association of Spine Surgeons.


Dr. Baqaie joined Virginia Orthopaedic Center in 2004.  He is a medical staff member of Culpeper Regional Hospital and the Culpeper Surgery Center.


As an orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Baqaie treats all general orthpaedic medical needs.  Additionally, he specializes in the care and treatment of spinal and neck pain and injury.  Dr. Baqaie is specially trained to perform many medical treatments including lumbar decompression, epidural steroid injections, and minimally invasive spinal surgeries such as the TLIF, XLIF and ACDF.

Craig A. Reigel M.D.

Dr. Craig Reigel graduated from Gettysburg College, earned a Masters of Physiology from Temple University and completed his Medical degree at the Medical College of Pennsylvania.  He completed his Orthopedic training at Allegheny General Hospital and went on to complete Sports Medicine training at Thomas Jefferson University.


Dr. Reigel is Board Certified by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.  His honors include the Alma Morani prize for excellence in Internal Medicine and the Donal Cooper award for excellence in General Surgery.  He has been elected to the Alpha Omega Honor Society.


Before joining Virginia Orthopaedic Center, Dr. Reigel worked in private practice in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he had the opportunity to provide services for several high school, collegiate, and professional sports teams, including the Philadelphia Phillies, Flyers, Eagles and Wings.

 

Dr. Reigel is a member of the Culpeper Regional Hospital medical staff.


Since joining Virginia Orthopaedic Center in 2003, Dr. Reigel routinely treats many orthopaedic injuries and performs various procedures including Total Shoulder Replacements, Rotator Cuff Repairs, Arthroscopic meniscus / ACL repair, carpal tunnel release.

Robert Rutkowski M.D.

Dr. Robert Rutkowski is a graduate of Williams College and earned his Medical decree at SUNY in Buffalo, New York.  Dr. Rutkowski completed his internship and residency at the University of Pittsburgh.


Dr. Rutkowski is Board certified by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is a member of the Virginia Orthopaedic Society.


Dr. Rutkowski moved to Culpeper and began practicing over 30 years ago.  He is a member of the Culpeper Regional Hospital Medical Staff and has served as President of the Medical Staff and as Vice-President of the Culpeper Hospital Board of Trustees.

 

Dr. Rutkowski specializes in general orthopaedics and has performed hundreds of total knee, total hip, and total shoulder replacements.  Additionally, Dr. Rutkowski routinely performs ACL / meniscus tear knee surgeries, carpal tunnel release and other various hand, foot, and ankle procedures.
